EL JOHN
EL JOHN runs Indonesian pageants like Putri Pariwisata Indonesia, Putri Bumi Indonesia and Miss Chinese Indonesia. Its app is where fans pay to vote for their finalists, buy tickets to the grand finals, shop for merch, watch live streams and read the EL JOHN magazines. It runs on the web at app.eljohn.co.id and as a Flutter app on the App Store and Google Play.

What I did
- The backend behind app.eljohn.co.id, built to stay fast on the nights when everyone votes at once.
- A Go API that serves everything the app shows: voting, events and tickets, the shop, live streams, news, banners and user accounts.
- Paid voting: fans top up coins and spend them on votes for their favourite finalists, so busy voting nights are where the backend earns its keep.
- Event ticketing and an online shop (Toko Online), with orders, payments and transaction history.
- Production-level deployments and CI/CD, so new features ship without anyone holding their breath.
- Worked side by side with the UI/UX designers, from reviewing flows to pitching ideas that made voting and checkout easier.
- And I led the engineering team that built all of it.
